Education and training philosophy
Elise completed a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood teaching in 1991 at QUT.
Using the philosophy of event-based and immersive learning through play, Elise worked in a range of early education settings as teacher including day care and primary schools in Brisbane and Sydney for seven years.
Leaving the profession in 1998 to start a family, Elise has since focussed her training experience in presentation and staff development in a variety of work places.
Elise uses a strong pedagogical framework, and has channelled her teacher training style through Workplace Training and Development practice.
She has presented to a variety of audiences from community gatherings, colleagues and peers, board directors, senior executives, international audiences, commercial partners and Ministers and elected representatives.
Presentation topics have included cultural development, artistic practice, grants and sponsorship, partnership development, economic re-localisation, placemaking, permaculture, conference briefings and personal development.
At P&Cs Qld, Elise led the media strategy, wrote media releases and liaised with media for events and built communications strategies. This included forging media relationships on behalf of the organisation, Ministerial offices and government departments, and managing emerging media “hot spots”.
Elise is currently undertaking contracting roles for training and development opportunities for a variety of organisations, boards and community groups.
